Updating software
Tools are provided to help you update your software by applying patches or fix packs.
Procedure
- Updating IBM®
InfoSphere® Information Server
You apply patches or fix packs to InfoSphere Information Server by using the InfoSphere Information Server Update Installer. You should always download the latest Update Installer from Fix Central before applying patches or fix packs. WebSphere® Application Server Network Deployment
You apply patches or fix packs to WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment by using the IBM Installation Manager. Installation Manager is not installed by the InfoSphere Information Server suite installer when it installs WebSphere Application Server. You install IBM Installation Manager separately. Information on installing Installation Manager can be found in the WebSphere Application Server Information Center. For example, visit WebSphere Application Server in the Knowledge Center and search your version for the topic "Installing Installation Manager" and "Preparing to install the product." Use the option to "Download the files from the Passport Advantage® site, and use local installation." After you have installed Installation Manager, you can follow the instructions in "Installing and uninstalling interim fixes and fix packs on distributed operating systems."
- Updating Db2® for Linux®, UNIX, and Windows.
You apply patches or fix packs to Db2 by using the installation code that is packaged with the patch or fix pack. If you installed Db2 by using the InfoSphere Information Server suite installer, then it installed Db2 Enterprise Server Edition (ESE). Instructions on applying fix packs can be found in the Db2 Information Center. For example, visit Db2 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows in the Knowledge Center and search your version of Db2 for the topic "Fix pack installation methods."
