Logging in to the IBM InfoSphere Information Server Web console

The IBM® InfoSphere® Information Server Web console is a browser-based interface for administrative activities.

Before you begin

Procedure

  1. Open a web browser, and navigate to the IBM InfoSphere Information Server Web console in one of two ways:
    • Specify the URL directly: https://hostname:port/ibm/iis/console
    • Launch it from the IBM InfoSphere Information Server Web console icon in the launchpad, which is located at https://hostname:port/ibm/iis/launchpad
    hostname
    The host name or IP address of the services tier computer. In a clustered environment, specify the host name for the front-end dispatcher. Do not use the host name of a particular cluster member.
    port
    The port number for the application server. In a clustered environment, use the value for the front-end dispatcher. Do not use the port number for a particular cluster member Unless changed during installation or afterward, the default port number is 9443.
  2. If a message is displayed indicating that the certificate from the server is not trusted, follow the browser prompts to accept the certificate and proceed to the login page.
  3. Specify your user name and password.
  4. Optional: If enabled, you can select the Automatically log in check box to generate a cookie so that the next time you try to connect you are automatically connected.
    To remove the cookie, and to be able to log in with a different user name and password, you must click the Logout link in the console to log out of the session.
  5. Click Login.
