Format tab

Shows details of the formats identified in the column. You can specify whether a data value conforms to or violates that format.

General Format

Shows the format that was generated for a data value. Each character in the data value is assigned a format character symbol. For example, all alphabetic characters would be replaced with a letter A. This replacement happens automatically if the data field has a class of Identifier, Code, Indicator, Quantity, Date, or Text.

Examples of valid format characters include: A=uppercase alpha, a=lowercase alpha

Count

Shows a count of the data values in the column that use that format.

Percent

Shows the percentage of data values that use that format.

Status

Shows whether the format conforms to or violates the formatting requirements of the column. You can select an appropriate status.

Domain Values Status

You can update the Domain Analysis information about specific values (Incomplete or Invalid status) associated with a given format and have the decision applied to all distinct values that pertain to that format. Select a Format and choose to have associated values marked from this list of domain values status: Mark As Valid, Mark As Invalid, or Mark As Default.

If you selected general format, this object list shows all associated distinct values.

Drill Down

Select a distinct value and click Drill Down to view or edit the details for the column values.

Shows a total count of the formats that conform to and violate the general format. Additionally, shows details for the data values that violate the general format.

Conforming Count

A total count of all the data values in the column that conform to a valid general format.

Violation Count

A total count of all the data values in the column that violate the valid general formats.

Format violations

Shows all the data values that do not conform to the general format.
