Disconnecting and reloading shared data rules

Disconnect a rule in the mapping editor from a shared rule, or reload the shared Data Rule Definition in the mapping editor.

About this task

In the Mappings Transformation tab, after you create a Data Rule Definition (DRD), a reference to the new DRD is created. The new DRD name is shown below the field titled "Data Rule Definition". Three new buttons also appear next to the Data Rule Definition text field, titled Open..., Reload, and Disconnect.

When working with references to shared Data Rule Definitions (DRDs) over time, modifications are potentially made to the shared rules. These modifications are not automatically reflected in the mapping specification. You can manually update mapping specifications with the latest version of the shared DRD.

  • To open the DRD in the rules editor, click Open....
  • To disconnect the DRD in the mapping editor from the shared rule, click Disconnect. This option will remove the reference to the shared DRD.
  • To reload the shared DRD into the mapping editor, click Reload. This option will overwrite the local rule with the shared DRD, and re-establish the connection from the local copy to the public data rule. This update affects Rule Description, Rule Expression, and Sources and Targets of the mapping.

Reload can be used on one or multiple mappings.

Note: If a shared DRD has been deleted in the repository, a dialog opens informing you that the DRD has already been deleted. The reference to the shared DRD is removed from the mapping.
