Checklist for migrating from Versions 8.1, 8.1.1, and 8.1.2 to Version 11.7

Use this migration checklist to migrate from InfoSphere® Information Server, Versions 8.1, 8.1.1, and 8.1.2 to InfoSphere Information Server, Version 11.7.

1. Complete the following tasks:
   • Verify migration requirements.
   • Design the migration topology.
   • Install the new version of InfoSphere Information Server
2. Configure your user registry.
3. Export each of the following products or components in any order from your source computer:
   • Export common metadata, Version 8.1.2
   • Export InfoSphere Information Services Director, Versions 8.1, 8.1.1, or 8.1.2.
   • Export InfoSphere Business Glossary, Versions 8.1., 8.1.1, or 8.1.2 by using one of the following methods:
     • Export glossary content by using the InfoSphere Business Glossary administrative interface.
     • Export by using the command line interface.
   • Export InfoSphere DataStage, Versions 8.1, 8.1.1, or 8.1.2.
     • Copy files that are not included in the project export.
   • Export InfoSphere FastTrack mapping specifications as .csv files.
   • Export InfoSphere Information Analyzer, Versions 8.1, 8.1.1, and 8.1.2 quality components.
   • Export InfoSphere QualityStage, Versions 8.1, 8.1.1, or 8.1.2.
     • Copy files that are not included in the project export.
   • Migrate InfoSphere Metadata Workbench, Version 8.1, 8.1.1, or 8.1.2:
     • Migrating InfoSphere Metadata Workbench, Versions 8.1 and 8.1.1.
     • Migrating InfoSphere Metadata Workbench, Version 8.1.2.
4. Import each of the following products or components. Import common metadata first and then the other components in any order to your target computer:
   • Import common metadata, Version 8.1.2.
   • Import InfoSphere Business Glossary, Versions 8.1., 8.1.1, or 8.1.2 into Information Governance Catalog by using one of the following methods:
     • Import InfoSphere Business Glossary, Versions 8.1, 8.1.1, and 8.1.2 by using Information Governance Catalog.
     • Import InfoSphere Business Glossary, Versions 8.1, 8.1.1, and 8.1.2 by using istool.
   • Import InfoSphere DataStage, Versions 8.1, 8.1.1, or 8.1.2..
     • Copy files that are not included in the project export.
   • Import InfoSphere FastTrack mapping specifications.
   • Import InfoSphere Information Analyzer, Versions 8.1, 8.1.1, or 8.1.2 data quality components.
   • Import InfoSphere Information Services Director, Versions 8.1, 8.1.1, or 8.1.2.
   • Import InfoSphere QualityStage, Versions 8.1, 8.1.1, or 8.1.2.
     • Copy files that are not included in the project export.
