Mapping compositions

Define a set of mapping specifications with a mapping composition.

A mapping composition allows you to define a set of mapping specifications and their relationships. You can create mapping compositions on a project level, which is similar to creating mapping specifications. The mapping compositions are then accessible in the mapping compositions folder. In the Mapping Composition Editor, you name the compositions, edit them (for example, add mapping specifications), and reuse them. Mapping compositions are required as a base for generating mapping specifications from IBM® InfoSphere® DataStage® jobs, and allow you to compose specifications into a single DataStage job.

The Mapping Composition editor provides a Validation view on the right side that allows you to see all of the warning and error validation messages. You enable or disable this view by clicking the exclamation point (!) icon in the tools bar.
