Populating mapping specifications with mapping components

Integrate shared containers from IBM® InfoSphere® DataStage® intoIBM InfoSphere FastTrack mapping components.

You can integrate InfoSphere DataStage shared containers as InfoSphere FastTrack mapping components into an InfoSphere FastTrack project. Once integrated, the mapping components can be viewed and used as sources or targets within mapping specifications. The mapping specifications can then be generated into InfoSphere DataStage jobs, and the included mapping components are represented as InfoSphere DataStage shared containers.

When a mapping component is added to InfoSphere FastTrack, it is associated with the InfoSphere DataStage shared container. If modifications are made to the InfoSphere DataStage shared container, the InfoSphere FastTrack mapping component must be updated to retrieve the modifications. Within InfoSphere FastTrack, the mapping component provides only signature information from the InfoSphere DataStage shared container. The signature consists of the links and variables within the mapping component.

Mapping components can be viewed in the InfoSphere FastTrack mapping component editor, and provide information such as who created the InfoSphere DataStage shared container, who added the shared container to the InfoSphere FastTrack project as a mapping component, and any timestamps.
