CACB004E CONNECT TIMED OUT FOR LOG STREAM: <STREAM_NAME>
Explanation
The logger service determined that initialization processing is taking too long to complete for a DASD-based diagnostic log stream or event log stream and ended the attempt to connect.
The amount of time that the logger service waits for an log stream to complete initialization is specified by using the logger service RESPONSETIMEOUT configuration parameter. The default is five minutes.
If this is a diagnostic log stream the data server terminates shortly after this message is issued.
If this is an event log stream the server continues operations but without an event log that can be viewed from the administration tools.
User response
Verify that the z/OS system logger environment is set up to support the size of the log stream that you are trying to use. Consider deleting the existing log stream definition and define a smaller log stream that will initialize faster.
Alternately you can increase the logger service RESPONSETIMEOUT value to give the system more time to complete initialization. You cannot do this by using an MTO command or Classic Data Architect and must use the configuration migration utility (CACCFGUT) to update the configuration definition.
