Setting up a remote connection

If you want to install CDC Replication and the Oracle database on different machines, then you must set up a connection to the remote machine where the Oracle database is installed by using SQL*Net.

Procedure

  1. Install the Oracle client on the local server.
  2. Add the TNS names entry to the tnsnames.ora file.
  3. When you configure CDC Replication, specify the Oracle client location and the TNS names entry.
