Understanding subscription states

Subscriptions configured in Management Console can be in one of the following states:

Ending
Indicates that CDC Replication is close to completing replication activity on the subscription and is in the process of shutting down.
Failed
Indicates that the subscription stopped replication after encountering an error.
Inactive
Indicates that CDC Replication is not replicating data on the subscription.
Locked
Indicates that the subscription has been locked by a user. A locked subscription is read-only to all other users.
Mirror Continuous
Indicates that CDC Replication is mirroring data between the source and target. This occurs when you have started continuous mirroring on the subscription.
Mirror Net Change
Indicates that CDC Replication is mirroring changes that were made to the source since replication last ended.
CDC Replication ends replication after the changes are mirrored to the target.
Refresh Before Mirroring
Indicates that CDC Replication will refresh the data before mirroring will begin.
Refreshing
Indicates that CDC Replication is refreshing data from the source to the target.
After completing the refresh, CDC Replication starts mirroring the subscription or returns to a state of Inactive, depending on the replication method that you have selected for the subscription.
Starting
Indicates that CDC Replication is starting replication for the subscription.
Unknown
Indicates that CDC Replication cannot determine the state of the subscription.
This may be a result of a lack of communication between the monitoring process and the datastores, or your subscription is using an external source datastore.
Waiting for DataStage® Job to be Started
Indicates that Management Console is waiting for the IBM® DataStage job to begin before replication can start.
Waiting for DataStage Job to Connect
Indicates that Management Console is waiting for the IBM DataStage job to connect before replication can start.
Ending DataStage job
Indicates that Management Console is waiting for the IBM DataStage job to end before replication can end.

An icon is displayed beside the subscription name to visually indicate its state.
