Creating an alias for the IP address or hostname of the standby server
Before a failover occurs you must create an alias for the IP address or hostname of the standby server.
Procedure
- Log in to Management Console with a System Administrator account with privileges to manage user accounts and datastores.
- Click
- Right-click the datastore in your DB2® HADR configuration and select Properties.
- Select the Alias tab.
- Click Add and enter the IP address or hostname of your standby server. The datastore must use the same port on the primary server and standby server. By default, the CDC Replication Engine for Db2® Database replication engine uses port 10901.
- Click OK. You will select this alias when you update the target datastore for each subscription after a failover.
- Repeat these steps for each datastore in your DB2 HADR configuration.
