Specifying large object truncation size for subscriptions applying to Hadoop using Web HDFS

The large object truncation affects the maximum size of large object data that will be included in the flat file. You should set this property to as small a size as possible while still retaining enough of the data from the large columns to meet your business needs.

Procedure

  1. Click Configuration > Subscriptions.
  2. Right-click on a subscription and select Hadoop Properties.
  3. Enter the truncation point for large character data in the Character data (# characters) box.

    The default value is 8000.

  4. Enter the truncation point for large binary data in the Binary data (# bytes) box.

    The default value is 8000.

  5. Click OK.
