Installing the container components
VSAM Remote Source is distributed as a tar file that can be download from IBM® Fix Central or Passport Advantage®.
Always obtain the latest maintenance level that is available on Fix Central.
The downloaded tar file contains public key, signature, certificate, and intermediate certificate files that you can use to verify the authenticity and validity of the download. It also contains a licenses folder with the license agreement and license information files, and a tar file that contains the VSAM Remote Source Docker image:
- VSAM_Remote_Source_114.tar
- VSAM_Remote_Source_114.pub
- VSAM_Remote_Source_114.sig
- VSAM_Remote_Source_114_Certificate.pem
- VSAM_Remote_Source_114_Intermediate_Certificate.pem
- licenses folder
VSAM Remote Source can use different container engines. The container installation topics describe both Docker and Podman. You must choose the container engine that is right for your site. Most of the documentation is based on Docker as the container engine. If you are running the container by using Podman, you need to substitute the appropriate Podman command where necessary.
