When you install CDC Replication on
a supported Windows server,
you can start it manually after the initial configuration. Starting CDC Replication starts
the services in Windows.
The services will automatically start after a reboot.
About this task
If you are installing the CDC Replication Engine for Microsoft SQL Server on
a different system from Microsoft SQL
Server and are using the remote apply, you will have to manually stop
and restart CDC Replication when
you restart Microsoft SQL
Server.
Procedure
- At the command prompt, launch the
configuration tool by issuing the following command in the specified
directory:
\<CDC Replication installation directory>\bin\dmconfigurets.exe
- In the Instances area,
select the instance that you want to start and click Start.
The configuration tool starts the instance of CDC Replication.

dialog to start and stop CDC Replication services.
