Best practices for running the CDC Replication Engine for Db2 Database in a DPF source environment
There are a number of best practices to help you run a CDC Replication Engine for Db2® Database in a DPF source environment
Consider the following best practices when deploying CDC Replication in a DPF source environment:
- Since CDC Replication uses log timestamps to merge transactions on a DPF system, it is a best practice to ensure the clocks on all of the partitions in your database are synchronized.
- Install CDC Replication on the catalog partition to minimize TCP/IP traffic. CDC Replication frequently reads the logs on the catalog partition and this type of configuration is more efficient as it minimizes TCP/IP traffic for CDC Replication.
