Setting advanced preferences

When mapping tables, you can show all databases, schemas, libraries, or tables that are available for mapping, or you can specify filter criteria to display only those databases, schemas, libraries, or tables that you require.

You can set the following advanced preferences:

Access Server Timeouts
Set the timeout value to indicate how long Management Console waits for a response from the datastore.
Memory
Allocate memory for Management Console. You can increase the amount of memory available for Management Console.
Encoding
Add character sets and encodings to Management Console. For CDC Replication version 6.3 and CDC Replication Engine for Db2® for z/OS® version 6.2.1 and earlier, you can add character sets and encodings to Management Console that are different from the standard character sets and encodings that are provided by default. These become available for encoding conversion on the Encoding tab in the Mapping Details view.
You can also import and export character sets and encodings if you need to share these settings.
Always show incomplete table mappings
Enable this option to indicate whether Management Console displays source tables for a subscription, in the Table Mappings view, that have not been mapped to target tables. By default, these incomplete mappings are not displayed. To always show incomplete mappings, enable this option or right-click on the Table Mappings view and select Show Incomplete Mappings. Your preference is saved even after you restart Management Console. If you have incomplete table mappings, Management Console will warn you before it starts mirroring.

Using filtering optimizes system performance and enables you to navigate more efficiently if you have a large number of nodes (databases, schemas, libraries, or tables). Depending on the your CDC Replication platform, and the Minimum Number value specified for filtering in Edit > Preferences > Prompts > Filtering, the Filter Databases, Filter Schemas, Filter Libraries, or Filter Tables dialog box opens when you expand a datastore, database, schema, or library respectively. The Filter Databases window can appear with the replication platforms that can contain multiple databases. For other replication platforms that contain single database instances, the Filter Schemas and Filter Tables dialog boxes can open when you expand the respective nodes under a datastore.
