Adding character encodings

You can add character sets and encodings to Management Console.

Before you begin

This task is only applicable to datastores that are CDC Replication version 6.3 or CDC Replication Engine for Db2® for z/OS® version 6.2.1 and earlier.

Procedure

  1. Click Edit > Preferences.
  2. Select Advanced and click Encoding.
  3. Click Add.
  4. Enter the supported encoding name in the ISO/IANA Name box.

    This is dependent on database platform. Refer to the Java™ Supported Encodings Document for a list of supported ISO/IANA encoding names.

  5. Enter the supported encoding name in the IBM CCSID box.

    A Coded Character Set Identifier (CCSID) is a unique 16-bit number identifying a set of encoding scheme identifiers, character set identifiers, code page identifiers, and additional coding-related required information.

  6. Choose one of the following from the Character Length box.
    • Single-byte
    • Double-byte
    • Multi-byte
