Required Db2 and z/OS settings
The CDC Replication Engine for Db2® for z/OS® Remote Source interacts with the database remotely through a JDBC connection, reads the Db2 log through either a started task or an external stored procedure, and might interact with z/OS through SSH depending on the configuration option that you choose.
The CDC Replication user ID might be granted different levels of privileges depending on which parts of the installation should be automatic or manually configured by an administrator.
See Prepare your environment for the CDC Replication Engine for Db2 for z/OS Remote Capture to download a worksheet that can help you perform the required setup tasks.
CDC Replication provides samples for granting the required z/OS and Db2 privileges and testing that the privileges were granted. The samples are found in the samples directory in your CDC Replication Engine for Db2 for z/OS Remote Source installation directory.
