Installing the CDC Replication Engine for BigQuery using an interactive installation (Windows)

The interactive install on Windows operating systems uses the IBM® IBM Data Replication installation wizard to help you install the CDC Replication software.

Before you begin

Before you attempt to install or upgrade CDC Replication, consult the database, operating system and hardware requirements for the specific version of the software that you want to install to ensure that it is compatible with your system.

Procedure

  1. Double-click the installation executable.

    The IBM IBM Data Replication installation wizard opens.

  2. Select Install new product and click Next.
  3. Select BigQuery and then click Next.
  4. Select the offering that you are entitled to and click Next.
    Contact your sales representative if you need help to determine what offering you are entitled to.
  5. Select the folder where you want to install IBM Data Replication and click Next.
  6. If you agree to the license terms, select I accept the terms in the license agreement and click Next.
  7. Select the location for the shortcut folder and click Next.
  8. Select the folder where you want your instance and product log to be created and click Next.
  9. Review the installation summary and click Install.
  10. Select Launch Configuration Tool after the installation is finished. The configuration tool allows you to add an instance of CDC Replication.
  11. Click Done to exit the installation.

What to do next

After you have successfully installed the software on a server, you need to create your instances. Each instance that you create is a separate replication engine and is seen by Management Console as a datastore.
