Generating an audit trail report

You can generate a report of the audit trail log.

Before you begin

You can generate audit trail reports only after enabling audit logging.

About this task

The following activities are recorded the report:
  • Added, modified, or deleted user accounts
  • Added, modified, deleted, or renamed datastores
  • New or lost user and datastore assignments
  • Enabled, disabled, or modified ability to generate an audit log
  • Modified security settings on user accounts

Procedure

  1. Ensure that you are a system administrator and have the privileges to manage datastores and user accounts.
  2. Ensure that you have enabled audit logging.
  3. Click File > Access Server > Audit Log > Audit Trail.
  4. Select the start date of the events you want to audit in the From box.
  5. Select the end date of the events you want to audit in the To box.
  6. Click OK.

Results

Each of the activities contained in an audit trail log report has the following categories and items of information:
Event
Specifies the description of the activity being audited.
Timestamp
The date and time of activity.
OS User
The operating system user who performed the action.
MC User
The Management Console user who performed the action.
Module
Identifies the module that recorded the change.
Comment
Depending on the activities being audited, the report will specify information on the activity or change that was recorded.
