Encrypted tablespaces
The CDC Replication Engine for Oracle databases supports replication for tables that use encrypted table spaces. It supports both column encryption and table space encryption.
Note: The engine does not support replication of encrypted data that is generated by Transparent
Data Encryption on Oracle 19c and later.
The following limitations apply when Oracle Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) is not configured during CDC Replication instance configuration:
- The CDC Replication Engine for Oracle databases does not support reading transactions that contain a mixture of encrypted and non-encrypted operations, even if the encrypted operations do not belong to a table that is being replicated.
- If any table in the database is created in an encrypted table space, CDC Replication cannot process the redo logs to replicate data.
