Stopping the CDC Replication Engine for Db2® Database (Windows)

It may be necessary to stop CDC Replication when you want to change the configuration settings, take a server or database offline for maintenance purposes, or if you want to upgrade CDC Replication. You can use the configuration tool or commands to stop CDC Replication.

Procedure

  1. End replication on all subscriptions in Management Console.
  2. Launch the configuration tool by issuing the following command in the specified directory:
    \CDC_installation_directory\bin\dmconfigurets
  3. In the Instances area, select the instance that you want to stop and click Stop.

The configuration tool stops the CDC Replication instance and services. The services will automatically start again after a reboot.

What to do next

When you launch the IBM® Data Replication configuration tool, it gathers information regarding all created instances on startup. If you have a large number of CDC Replication instances, this will increase the amount of time it takes for the configuration tool to launch. In this situation, it would be quicker to use the Windows Services dialog to start and stop an instance.
