Understanding the Management Console interface
Management Console is
composed of a number of windows or tabs that are referred to as perspectives and views.
After logging in to Management Console you
will see three perspectives: the Configuration perspective,
the Monitoring perspective, and the Access
Manager perspective, from which you can access a number
of different views depending on your role and access level:
- Configuration perspective—Contains the Subscriptions view,
the Datastores view, and the Table
Mappings view. These views enable you to configure your
replication environment by connecting to your datastores, creating
subscriptions, mapping your tables, and configuring how to transform
your data. Within the status bar for the perspective, you can view
a summary of your configuration:
- The user name used to log on to Management Console.
- The number of datastores that are connected
- Warning information, if any datastores that could not be connected.
- The number of subscriptions that have been loaded.
- The number of table mappings that have been loaded for the selected subscription.
- Monitoring perspective—Contains the Subscriptions view
and the Performance view. These views that
allow you to initiate replication and monitor your replication activity.
At the bottom of this perspective, you can view a summary of your
monitoring environment:
- The user name used to log on to Management Console.
- The number of datastores that are connected
- Warning information, if any datastores that could not be connected.
- The number of subscriptions that have been loaded.
- Access Manager perspective—Contains
the Datastore Management view, the User
Management view, and the Connection Management view.
These views enable you to create and manage datastores, user accounts,
and access connections. At the bottom of this perspective, you can
view a summary of your Access Manager environment:
- The user name used to log on to Management Console.
- The number of datastores that are connected
- Warning information, if any datastores that could not be connected.
Preferences allow you to control the behavior of Management Console. For example, you can choose whether you want to connect to datastores automatically after logging in to Management Console.
The information, features and options displayed in the Management Console interface is determined by several factors:
- your role as a user
- the datastores to which you have access
- the type of the datastore
- the version of the datastore
Only the relevant information will be displayed in the interface and only the eligible features and options will be available for use.
