Ensuring that CDC for Db2 for z/OS has sufficient resources

In order for CDC for Db2® for z/OS® to replicate data in a timely manner, it needs to have sufficient CPU and memory resources available to it. This is normally controlled by Workload Manager (WLM). It is strongly suggested that CDC Replication have exactly the same WLM settings as the Db2 subsystem to which it is attached. If CDC Replication has lower goals in WLM than Db2, it is very easy for Db2 to write log data faster than CDC Replication is able to process it, with the result being high latency in CDC Replication, which is never desirable. Conversely, there is no point in CDC Replication having higher goals than Db2, since Db2 is the source of all log data. The goals of CDC Replication need only be high enough so that its velocity is equal to that of Db2.
