Configuring the CDC Replication Engine for Db2® for i to use TCP/IP

After installing CDC Replication, you need to allocate a TCP/IP service for communication with Management Console that you have installed on each client workstation.

The TCP/IP service is called ‘dmirror'. If you chose to use a non-default value for the service name change DMTCPJOBD *JOBD’s Request data or command value to use your non-default service name.

  1. Run the Configuration Utility. Issue the following command:
    CFGTCP

    The Configure TCP/IP screen appears.

  2. Select Option 21 - Configure related tables.

    The Configure Related Tables screen appears.

  3. Select Option 1 - Work with service table entries.

    The Work with Service Table Entries screen appears.

  4. Enter 1 in the Opt column.
  5. Press Enter to continue.

    The Add Service Table Entry screen appears.

  6. In the Service field, enter ‘dmirror' (in single quotation marks).
  7. In the Port field, enter a port number between 1 and 65535.
  8. In the Protocol field, enter ‘tcp' (in single quotation marks).
  9. In the Text ‘description' field, enter a description for the service table entry.
