Journal Sequence Number (&SEQNO)
The sequence number of this update in the journal.
- Data Type
- Integer
- Restrictions and limitations:
- Depending on the replication engine that you install, journal
control fields may or may not be supported when mirroring or refreshing data. Unsupported journal
control fields contain default values that vary between the replication engines.
- CDC Replication Engine for Db2® for i—Support for this journal control field is available only when CDC Replication mirrors data, and is not available when refreshing data. If you decide to use this journal control field when refreshing data, CDC Replication sets this journal control field to relative record number on the target.
- CDC Replication Engine for Db2 Database—Support for this journal control field is not available.
- CDC Replication Engine for Microsoft SQL Server—Support for this journal control field is not available.
- CDC Replication Engine for Oracle databases—Support for this journal control field is not available.
- CDC Replication Engine for Oracle databases (Trigger edition)—Support for this journal control field is not available.
- CDC Replication Engine for Oracle XStream—Support for this journal control field is not available.
- CDC Replication Engine for Db2 for z/OS®—Support for this journal control field is only available when CDC Replication mirrors data, and is not available when refreshing data. When mirroring data, this journal control field contains the RBA or LRSN integer. DB2® uses RBAs and LRSNs to keep track of log positions. As of Db2 version 11, the RBA and LRSN log positions have expanded from 6 bytes (twelve hexadecimal digits) to 10 bytes (twenty hexadecimal digits). CDC for Db2 for z/OS version 10.2.1 and later will provide a limited RBA/LRSN value in the &SEQNO field in a manner that is consistent with previous database versions. If you decide to use this journal control field when refreshing data, CDC Replication sets this journal control field to a default value of 0.
