Preventing the reuse of passwords

You can enhance security by ensuring that old passwords are not continually reused. For this policy to be effective, do not let users change their password immediately after setting a new one. You can control this by setting the minimum age of the password.

1. Ensure that you are a system administrator and have the privileges to manage datastores and user accounts.
2. Click File > Access Server > Access Server Options.
3. Click Passwords.
4. Enable the Enforce Password history check box.
5. Enter the number of passwords remembered in the Passwords remembered box.

   The number must be between 1 and 12. The default number is 5.
