Locking passwords on failed login attempts

You can enable a login policy to prevent computer password attacks.

About this task

The policy creates a condition where a user will be locked out of their account after a number of attempts. By default, this setting is set to 3 login attempts.

Procedure

  1. Ensure that you are a system administrator and have the privileges to manage datastores and user accounts.
  2. Click File > Access Server > Access Server Options.
  3. Click Accounts.
  4. Enable the Lock accounts on failed login attempts check box.
  5. Enter the maximum number of attempts before an accounts is locked in the Consecutive failures before lock box.

    The number must be between 1 and 100. The default number is 3.
