Creating an application admin user

About this task

An Application Administrator user installs, updates, tunes, diagnoses, and monitors both internal and third-party applications.

Complete the following steps to create an application admin user by using IBM Maximo Asset Management.

Note:

Before you use Maximo Asset Management for your application, you must create a user for your application, within Maximo Asset Management, which has appropriate access permissions. Do not to use the MAXADMIN user because the MAXADMIN user is a special user for a system administrator. You cannot reactivate the MAXADMIN user by yourself if the MAXADMIN user gets locked by giving wrong passwords three times in a row.

  1. Change password generation policy.
  2. Grant options to MAXADMIN user.
  3. Configure object structure security.
  4. Create new security group for application's admin user.
  5. Create application admin user associated with security group.
