In IBM® Cognos® Incentive Compensation
Management, you can add a calculation that offsets the results of
another calculation by a specified number of time periods.
This
is helpful to compare results from a previous period with those from
a current period.
Procedure
- To add a calculation, perform one of the following steps:
- Drag the Calculation element onto the
Composer window.
- Right-click and select Add Calculation.
- Type a name for the calculation, select Time
Shift as the calculation Type,
and type a description for the calculation.
- Click Next.
- Select the calculation you want to time shift from the Pick
a source drop-down menu.
Important: The
Source drop-down menu will list all available calculations in alphabetical
order. If you enter the first letter of the data source in the text
box, you will be brought to the first source that begins with that
letter.
- Type the number of time periods to shift the calculation
or use the minus (-) or plus (+) icons.
- Click Next.
- To specify a starting date for the calculation, select
the Starting check box and specify the date.
- To specify an ending date for the calculation, select the Ending check
box and specify the date.
- Click Finish.
