Administration using the REST API

You can use the administrative REST API to administer IBM® MQ objects, such as queue managers and queues, and Managed File Transfer agents and transfers. Information is sent to, and received from, the administrative REST API in JSON format. These RESTful APIs can help you to embed IBM MQ administration into popular DevOps and automation tooling.

Before you begin

Note: You cannot use the administrative REST API with the stand-alone IBM MQ Web Server. For more information about the installation options for the IBM MQ component that runs the administrative REST API, see The IBM MQ Console and REST API.
