Installing IBM HTTP Server by using response files
You can use Installation Manager to install IBM® HTTP Server silently.
Before you begin
About this task
For transitioning users: IBM SDK, Java™ Technology Edition, Version 8 is the Java SDK version for WebSphere® Application Server
Version 9.0.
IBM SDK, Java Technology Edition is no longer embedded with IBM HTTP Server for WebSphere Application Server. The Java SDK is available as a separate offering that must be
installed when you install IBM HTTP Server.
Restriction: You can only configure the HTTP port (that is, the
user.ihs.httpPort
) in IMCL/Silent/GUI
mode on AIX or other UNIX
platforms. The administrative configuration cannot be performed along with the installation of IBM
HTTP Server. You need to install IBM HTTP Server first; then, you can use the GUI-based Plug-in
Configuration Tool or the pct command-line tool to perform the administrative configuration.Procedure
Example
The following is an example of a response file for silently installing IBM HTTP Server and IBM SDK, Java Technology Edition, Version 8.
Important: Because IBM SDK Java Technology Edition is a separate offering that must be
installed when you install IBM HTTP Server, your response file must contain two
