You can verify that the Call Home configuration is correct and that your network
infrastructure will allow the Call Home service to communicate with the IBM support
servers.
Procedure
Use one of the following approaches:
-
Log in to the IAS web console and click button.
As a result, you can see the status and the time stamp of the test.
-
Log in to the active host of the IBM system as the appliance user by running:
[apuser@node0101-fab ~]# curl -X POST -H "Content-Type: application/json" -k https://localhost:8993/testconnectivity/
The
command triggers the Call Home service to establish communication with the IBM support servers.
Example output:
{"timestamp":"2017-07-24 23:05:03","status":"OK"}
If
you tail the Call Home log file
/opt/ibm/appliance/storage/platform/ras/callhome/log/callHome/callHome.0.log on
the node, you see the
following:
Mon Jul 24 23:05:03 UTC 2017 INFO: Connectivity Verification: Alias: Edge_Gateway_1, Host: esupport.ibm.com, IP: 129.42.56.189 : SUCCESS
