Setting up replication

To begin replicating data you enable the source database, add target databases, and then create replication sets.

Launching the replication console
You launch the replication console from the IBM Integrated Analytics System administration console.
Activating the trial license
After you launch the replication console you can activate a 90-day, free trial license for IBM Data Replication for Availability. The trial license must be activated on both the replication source and replication target databases.
Setting up certificates required by replication
Before you configure your replication environment, you need to ensure that the security certificates that are required for the replication console and Db2 are in place.
Enabling a source database for replication
To set up your IBM Integrated Analytics System or standalone Db2 Warehouse for replication, you first enable a source database.
Adding a target for replication
When you add a target, you specify the database where you want to replicate data, set up connections to the database, and then enable the database for replication.
Adding a replication set
You add a replication set to specify a set of tables to be replicated to a designated target.
Setting up replication for continuous availability
You can use the replication console to configure primary and standby database sites so that if the primary site must be shut down (or has an unplanned outage), applications can be re-routed to the standby site until the primary is restored.
Implementing new parameters for log read
You can now restart reading the log, for the timestamp specified in the Data Partition Facility (DPF) Db2 configuration.
Moving from a trial license to a production license
Your trial license entitles you to temporary (90 day) usage of IBM Data Replication for Availability. You can view the number of days left in the trial period from the Data Replication screen in the web console. To continue using the product after the trial period, you must obtain and apply a production license.
