Monitoring workloads
Use the
pages to explore data workload information such as time of execution, data distribution, database time breakdown, SQL execution, transaction rates, statements, and more.In the web console, click
to see visualizations of the appliance workload. You can click to drill down to sections for Spark, database partitions, statements, queries, locking, applications, throughout, buffer pools, or table performance, or switch to the notification page by clicking
to review the details.- Overview
-
In the Overview section, you can view how a specific database is performing.
Database time breakdown chart can help you view how time is appointed among database activities. Comparing how the various metrics perform over time allows you to easily find any bottlenecks on your database.
You can choose certain key metrics to provide an overview of the health and performance of the database, such as System CPU, Data Server CPU, Average activity time, and many others.
- Spark
-
The Spark page is to monitor the Spark applications in your Spark clusters. It displays the user names of the clusters that you are authorized to monitor and the number of applications that are currently running in each cluster.
- Database partitions
-
The Database Partitions page is to view the CPU, Sort, I/O status of each database partition by member in your database network.
- Statement
-
The Statement page is to monitor the statement metrics, such as In-flight/Individual Executions, Package Cache and Stored Procedures pages.
- Locking
-
The Locking page is to diagnose application performance problems caused by pervasive locking contention due to lock waits. If an application is performing poorly because it is frequently waiting on locks, you can force the locking application, or cancel the activities of the application to release the lock.
- Applications
-
The Applications page is to view the top consumers of resources on your data server, including Top Consumers, Connections, Utilities and Units of Work(UOW).
- Throughput
-
The Throughput page is to see the amount of work being done by the data server, as a whole, and how efficiently the work is being completed. Available views for throughput include: Connection Summary, Partition Summary, WLM Workload Summary, WLM Service Class Summary, Operating System Time Spent and Partition Skew.
- Buffer Pools
-
Buffer Pools is to compare all buffer pool hit ratios or detailed metrics for selected buffer pools.
- Table Performance
-
In real-time view, use the chart to analyze the current storage and access status for your database tables and schemas. Drill down to see detailed access and storage data for each object. In historical view, you can view details for database tables, indexes, and schemas, and you can take suggested actions such as configuring adaptive or static compression to realize potential storage savings for your database tables.
- Notifications
-
The Notifications page is to view all alerts and event messages generated for your database.
