Space requirements
The Model M4002-040S consists of eight racks. The racks are bolted together into units. In this system there are two units, each consisting of four racks.
Each rack in the system has a footprint of 25.5 in. (64.8 cm) by 43 in. (109.2 cm). An extra 36 in. (91.5 cm) of clear space is required in front of each rack and 30 in. (76.2 cm) behind the rack. This is to allow unrestricted airflow and access to the system.
Important: Use an extended service clearance of 60 in. (152
cm) in front of the rack to allow unrestricted access for service.
Note: The Model M4002-040S
system is housed in racks that are wider than a standard 24 in. (61
cm) data center floor tile. Plan accordingly.
A full height
system rack is 87.5 in. (222 cm) tall including the shipping pallet.
Without the pallet, the rack stands 79.5 in. (202 cm) tall including
casters. Allow for this when you are planning the movement of the
system from the unloading point to its permanent location. The following
figure shows the space requirements for the four-rack unit.
The total space requirements for the Model M4002-040S
