Overview of metadata management

Each algorithm stores the generated analytics models in one or more database tables in a proprietary format. The structure of these model tables depends on the algorithm.

In addition to the model tables, metadata information is available for each model, for example, name, owner, creation date, algorithm, and so on.

To manage the analytics models in a similar way as other database objects, such as tables, metadata management provides the following items:

• A central catalog for the metadata of analytics models
• A set of stored procedures to access and manage the models
• An elementary security environment for the metadata of the model
