Creating a UDSF written in Lua

This section uses examples to illustrate how to create, on a Db2® system, a user-defined scalar function (UDSF) written in Lua.

UDSF in Lua: Example 1
This example creates a function called adder that adds two numbers together and returns the result.
UDSF in Lua: Example 2
This example creates a function called unique_chars that counts the number of unique characters in a string and returns the result.
UDSF in Lua: Example 3
This example creates a function called vtest that validates the data type of each argument that is passed to the evaluate() function.
