Data Science Experience integration (deprecated)

IBM® Data Science Experience Local (DSX Local) is an out-of-the-box on-premises enterprise solution for data scientists and data engineers. It offers a suite of data science tools that are integrated with IBM technologies. It also seamlessly integrates with RStudio, Spark, and Jupyter notebook technologies. See https://datascience.ibm.com/docs/content/local/welcome.html for details.

Note:
  • Starting with IAS version 1.0.19.0, DSX is no longer pre-installed on the appliance. Any existing installations will continue to be supported until you transition to Watson Studio Local. IAS 1.0.19.0 entitles you to five user licenses for Watson Studio Local, to be installed on your own hardware. If you have DSX pre-installed, and you are using it:
    • IBM recommends that you leverage Watson Studio Local on a separate hardware for reasons of scalability.
    • IBM Support can help transition you to Watson Studio Local.
If you have DSX pre-installed, and you are NOT using it:
    • IBM recommends that you open a support tickets to uninstall it.
    • You are still entitled to five user licenses for Watson Studio Local, to be installed on your own hardware.
  • DSX is not available on customer-supplied rack M4002-001 model. For more information on this model, see M4002-001 model overview.

Integrated Analytics System includes and supports a one-node installation of DSX Local. The installation process must involve IBM Support.

All models of IAS include five authorized user entitlements.

Using machine learning tools in DSX Local, you can build your own models and train them with algorithms to analyze your company's data. These models can predict outcomes to make your existing business processes smarter. DSX Local also provides a Model Management dashboard to manage all of your users' models and deployments in one place, view statistics about your models, and monitor their health. See https://datascience.ibm.com/docs/content/local/models.html for details.

DSX Local also provides sample notebooks to help you create your own custom applications that can be powered by machine learning. These apps can use machine learning API endpoints provided by DSX Local. To access the DSX console in Integrated Analytics System, navigate your web browser to:
