Interfaces and protocols
IBM® Integrated Analytics System provides support for the following interfaces and protocols.
Interfaces
The system patch panel provides the following interfaces:
Interface type | Number of ports | Cable/connector requirements | Notes |
---|---|---|---|
1GbE | 4 | Cat5 or Cat6 with an RJ-45 connector. | |
10GbE | 8 | Either 850nm multimode short-range fiber or OM3 cable with 50 micron fiber for up to 300 meters. | |
Fibre Channel | 4 | Fibre Channel LC connectors | Used for external SAN storage. See Managing external storage with the storage_setup script for information on managing external storage in IAS. |
SCP (1GbE) | 2 | Cat5 or Cat6 with an RJ-45 connector. | The service ports allow you to connect a laptop to use ssh to access Linux® compute nodes, compute nodes FSP, and devices such as TMS storage. In case of a Mgt-A switch failure, use the right SCP-B port. The service laptop has the reserved IP address of 9.0.224.3/23 on the internal network and 9.0.231.3/24 on the "B" network. |
Protocols
Each interface can be configured for IPv4 or IPv6 by using the apsetup network installation script. Interfaces that are configured for IPv6 can use static global prefixes and addresses and use Stateless Address Autoconfiguration (SLAAC). SLAAC is the default dynamic address assignment mechanism for IPv6. DHCPv6 and Neighbor Discovery Protocol (NDP) are not supported.
