Using the SQL Performance Center with detailed monitors

You can work with detailed monitors from the SQL Performance Center. The detailed SQL performance monitor is the SQL Performance Center version of the STRDBMON database monitor, available through the native interface.

You can start a monitor from the SQL Performance Center by opening the File menu and selecting New > Perfomance Monitor. This monitor saves detailed data in real time to a hard disk. It does not need to be paused or ended in order to analyze the results. You can also choose to run a Visual Explain based on the data gathered by the monitor. Since this monitor saves data in real time, it might have a performance impact on your system.
