After you have created the message file,
you can create a new time zone that specifies the message file to
use.
To create a time zone, complete the following steps:
- From IBM Navigator
for i, expand .
- Right-click on Time Zones and click Open.
- Click New.
- On the General page, type MYTIMEZONE for
the Identifier.
- Specify the hours and minutes that you want the time to
be Offset from UTC.
- Specify the following information to use
the message file that was created in Step 1 for the Standard Time
full and abbreviated names:
- Select Use name specified in message.
- Type MSG1001 in the Message
ID field.
- Type MYTZMSG in the Message
file field.
- Type MYLIB in the Library field.
- Specify Time zone that uses a message description in
the Description field.
- On the Daylight Saving Time page, select Enable
Daylight Saving Time.
- Specify the following information to use the message file
that was created in Step 1 for the Daylight Saving Time full and abbreviated
names:
- Select Use name specified in message.
- Type MSG1002 in the Message
ID field.
- Specify when to Start daylight saving
time.
- Specify when to End daylight saving
time.
- After you have completed specifying the time
zone properties, click OK.
MYTIMEZONE is displayed in the list
of Available time zones.

Note: Time zones are initially
created with use (*USE) authority even if you are creating a time
zone based on an existing time zone. If you want to change the time
zone authority, click Edit on the Time Zones
dialog box. Then, click Permissions on the
General page to edit the authority of the time zone object.
The time zone is created and shown in the list of Available
time zones. To use the new time zone on System A, click Change
system value.
