Disk Device Type D910 is no longer supported on the IBM i
IBM® i 7.6 does not support the Disk Device Type D910.
If you slip install IBM i 7.6 on your partition that has the Disk Device Type D910 in a traditional ASP, the partition will IPL to DST. However, the partition will not IPL past DST.
If you slip install IBM i 7.6 on your partition that has the Disk Device Type D910 in an Independent ASP, the IASP will not vary on.
Contact your IBM Sales representative for a special key which permits the IBM i partition to continue to use the Disk Device Type D910 while you plan for the replacement of those devices.
IBM i clients who have existing Dell storage devices may be entitled to obtain a key to enable attachment with the IBM i D910 device driver. This key allows the existing device driver to attach Dell storage, but it does not include new enhancements. There is no guarantee that common IBM i storage or I/O path code will continue to work. Dell is responsible for any required changes if IBM i storage or I/O evolves in a way that becomes incompatible with Dell storage devices.
IBM i clients who purchase Dell storage for the first time after November 1, 2024 and require the IBM i D910 device driver for attachment are not entitled to the storage attachment key.
