
Starting NVMe Hot spare protection
This topic provides instructions for starting NVMe Hot spare protection.
To start hot spare protection with the command line, take the following steps:
- Start System Service Tools (STRSST), and specify the user name and password
- On the System Service Tools (SST) display, select Work with disk units
- On the Work with Disk Units display, select Work with disk configuration
- On the Work with Disk Configuration display, select Work with NVMe Devices
- On the Work with NVMe Device display, select Work with NVMe Hot Spare
- On the Work with NVMe Hot Spare display, select Start NVMe Hot Spare
- On the Start NVMe Hot Spare display, select the NVMe devices that you want Hot Spare started on
- On the Confirm Start NVMe Hot Spare display, use the F10 key to confirm the choice to start hot spare on the selected NVMe devices
