Setting the threshold of a disk pool

You can eliminate recovery problems that occur when a disk pool overflows by setting a disk pool threshold. When the data stored in the disk pool exceeds the specified threshold, the system sends a message so that you have time to add more storage space or delete unnecessary objects.

To change the threshold of a disk pool, follow these steps:

  1. Start System Service Tools (STRSST), and specify the user name and password.
  2. On the System Service Tools (SST) display, select Work with disk units.
  3. On the Work with Disk Units display, select Work with disk configuration.
  4. On the Work with Disk Configuration display, select Work with ASP Threshold.
  5. On the Select ASP to Change Threshold display, select the ASP you want to work with.
  6. On the Change Storage Threshold display, select the percentage (1-100).
