Creating iSCSI targets

You can use IBM® Navigator for i to configure iSCSI targets on a system.

To configure an iSCSI target by using IBM Navigator for i, follow these steps:

Note: To create an iSCSI targets you must have *IOSYSCFG special authority.
  1. In IBM Navigator for i, select Configuration and Service > iSCSI.
  2. Click the Actions menu and select Configure iSCSI Target.
  3. Follow the steps in the Configure A New iSCSI Target For Use On The System window to create the iSCSI target. After you finish the configuration, the new iSCSI target is displayed in the table.
    • A maximum of 16 iSCSI targets can be configured on the system.
    • After changes to the iSCSI configuration, a Restart of the iSCSI Virtual I/O Processor (IOP) must be done for the changes to take effect.
    • In the Restart IOP Confirmation window, click Yes for the changes to take effect immediately. For more information on restarting the IOP refer to Restart iSCSI Virtual I/O Processor (IOP) .
