IBM i Access Client Solutions provides a platform-independent solution that runs on most operating systems that support Java™, including Linux®, macOS, and Windows, and IBM i. IBM i Access Client Solutions consolidates the most commonly used tasks for accessing your IBM i into one simplified location. IBM i Access Client Solutions provides consolidation of console support that includes: 5250 LAN, 5250 Hardware Management Console (HMC), and Navigator for i. These hardware management interface configurations are provided: Advanced System Management Interface (ASMI), Integrated Virtualization Manager (IVM), and HMC.

In addition to the platform-independent solution for IBM i Access Client Solutions, application packages are also available that provide middleware for using and developing client applications along with data access technologies on Linux, macOS, Windows, and PASE for IBM® i.
