Configuring VPN on System A

Complete these task to configure System A

Use the following steps and the information from your worksheets to configure VPN on System A:
  1. In IBM Navigator for i, expand Network > IP Policies > Virtual Private Networking.
  2. Click Secure Connections to open the Connections panel.
  3. Click Actions > New Connection to start the New Connection wizard.
  4. Review the Welcome page for information about what objects the wizard creates.
  5. Click Next to go to the Connection Name page
  6. In the Name field, enter HRgw2FINgw.
  7. Optional: Specify a description for this connection group.
  8. Click Next to go to the Connection Scenario page.
  9. Select Connect your gateway to another gateway.
  10. Click Next to go to the Internet Key Exchange Policy page.
  11. Select Create a new policy and then select Balance security and performance.
  12. Click Next to go to the Certificate for Local Connection Endpoint page.
  13. Select No to indicate that you will not be using certificates to authenticate the connection.
  14. Click Next to go to the Local Key Server page.
  15. Select Version 4 IP address from the Identifier type field.
  16. Select 204.146.18.227 from the IP address field.
  17. Click Next to go to the Remote Key Server page.
  18. Select Version 4 IP address in the Identifier type field.
  19. Enter 208.222.150.250 in the Identifier field.
  20. Enter topsecretstuff in the Pre-shared key field
  21. Click Next to go to the Local Data Endpoint page.
  22. Select IP version 4 subnet from the Identifier type field.
  23. Enter 10.6.0.0 in the Identifier field.
  24. Enter 255.255.0.0 in the Subnet mask field.
  25. Click Next to go to the Remote Data Endpoint page.
  26. Select IP version 4 subnet from the Identifier type field
  27. Enter 10.196.8.0 in the Identifier field.
  28. Enter 255.255.255.0 in the Subnet mask field.
  29. Click Next to go to the Data Services page.
  30. Accept the default values, and then click Next to go to the Data Policy page.
  31. Select Create a new policy and then select Balance security and performance.
  32. Click Next to go to the Applicable Interfaces page.
  33. Select TRLINE from the Line table.
  34. Click Next to go to the Summary page. Review the objects that the wizard will create to ensure they are correct.
  35. Click Finish to complete the configuration.
  36. When the Activate Policy Filters panel appears, select Yes, activate the generated policy filters then select Permit all other traffic.
  37. Click OK to complete the configuration. When prompted, specify that you want to activate the rules on all interfaces.
