Formatting tape cartridges

The Initialize Tape (INZTAP) command is used to initialize (format) magnetic tapes for use on the system. This command is used to initialize a tape with a standard volume label for standard label magnetic tape processing, or to initialize a tape with no labels for unlabeled magnetic tape processing. For tape library devices you can also Initialize a tape by specifying option 10=Initialize tape from the WRKTAPCTG command list of tape cartridges
