Starting the INETD server

The Internet Daemon (INETD) server must be started in order for a node to be added or started, as well as for merge partition processing.

It is recommended that the INETD server always be running in your cluster.

You can start the INETD server by using the Start TCP/IP Server (STRTCPSVR) command and specifying the SERVER(*INETD) parameter. When the INETD server is started, a User QTCP (QTOGINTD) job is present in the Active Jobs list on the node.
